Laser Assisted Hatching (LAH)

Usually the embryo before the embedding stage has a thick shell covering which will protect the embryo from inappropriate environment. When the embryo develop to the blastocyst stage, the embryo will gradually expand to grow up aong with creating enzymes to digest the shell to be thin and break out. After that, the embryo will incubate and push themselves out of the shell with fissures to start the implantation process at the uterine cavity.

Sometimes found that the embryo cannot be incubated, such as the frozen embryo which makes the shell more rigid. Also sometimes the shell is thicker than normal due to the age of the patient, embryo quality is not good causing the incubation process to be incomplete that make the pregnancy rate is low.

Currently, Smile IVF Clinic has adopted the latest safe and modern technology as Laser Assisted Hatching (LAH) to thin the shell and makes the embryo incubate more easily. Also, LAH helps to make the pregnancy rate clearly higher.
